Certificates are non-assignable and non-transferable to third parties. Certificates are automatically renewed at the conclusion of the original term, for successive periods identical to the original term and conditions. The rate of earnings for any renewal term shall be the rate the Credit Union is offering at the renewal time. No additional deposits are allowed to the certificate except at maturity. Withdrawal of a share certificate prior to maturity is subject to penalties as stated below whether earned or not. The penalty prescribed will not be imposed for withdrawal of principal following the death of the account holder.
Penalties for early withdrawal:
Share Savings: If account closed before the end of the quarter - no dividends paid.
6 Month Share Certificate: 30 day interest penalty
9 Month Share Certificate 30 day interest penalty
12 Month Share Certificate: 90 day interest penalty
24 Month Share Certificate: 180 day interest penalty
****Any member becoming 20 years of age cannot open or renew a Youth Saver's Certificate.
Example: New Certificate or Renewed Certificate date - 9-27-07; Member's 20th Birthday - 3-27-08; --- NOT ELIGIBLE
